Buckley Belanger

Hon. Tim McLeod: — Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker. I would like to join the member from Mount Royal in welcoming our esteemed colleague and friend Buckley Belanger back to this, his Legislative Assembly. Of course Mr. Belanger is now a Secretary of State with the federal government, and we thank him very much for his service.

I’ve had the honour of working with him through the summer in our respective roles, and it’s been just a true pleasure working with him. As the member from Mount Royal indicated, his passion and commitment to the people in the North is unmatched, and we thank him very much for that. I haven’t seen him play hockey, Mr. Speaker, so I can’t say . . . All I would say is I’m certain he is better than the member from Mount Royal. But we do thank him and welcome him back to his Legislative Assembly.
