Appointment of New Chair to Regina Airport Authority
Hon. Mr. McLeod: — Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I rise today to offer my sincere congratulations to Trish Martynook on becoming the first-ever female board Chair of the Regina Airport Authority. Mr. Speaker, not only is Trish the first female board Chair, she is also the first-ever Chair to come from the city of Moose Jaw.
I would like to read a quote from Trish where she stated, “I feel encouraged. I think it is evidence that there is room for women at the board table.” Mr. Speaker, I could not agree more, and I hope that Trish’s well-earned appointment inspires other women all around the province to continue to get involved in the pursuits and the initiatives that they are passionate about.
Mr. Speaker, since her original appointment back in 2014, Trish has served on the board with distinction. She is the right person to chair the board as the airport seeks to recover from the losses incurred during the pandemic. Two of Trish’s main goals are to rebuild the airport’s passenger count and to regain full transborder flight capacity at the Regina International Airport.
Mr. Speaker, it is a joy and an honour to congratulate my friend, Trish Martynook, and wish her all the best as she works to bring a brighter future to the people of Saskatchewan. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
